Airplanes vs. Jets

On Monday, Doug will be flying to Danville, VA for the COEBA Conference hosted by our home church, Crossroads Baptist. The kids and I will drop him off at the airport around 5, and then since I'm a big chicken and can't stand staying by myself without my security system (Doug), the rest of us are spending a few days in Des Moines. We were able to get half price tickets for Adventureland (an amusement park in Des Moines), and Kent and Arielle are free anyhow. So we're taking them for the first time on Monday. Mind you, I started going to Adventureland when I was practically newborn, and Dad had me illegally riding the roller coasters at age 4, flapping baby fat cheeks, and all! So you can imagine how exciting it is for me to take my kids now. I've been looking forward to this opportunity for a long time. So I was explaining to Kent that "We are going to Adventureland and we'll ride some ladybugs, some boats, and some airplanes..." when he interrupted me and said, "Wait, wait, wait Mommy. We're not going to ride the airplanes, we're going to ride the jets." Nothing but the best for him. I hope they have upgraded to leather seats and Starbucks cup holders on the kiddie planes...

Jeff & Lisa Young are coming over in the morning with Kirstie and Jeffrey, and we are meeting at the zoo. Kent and Arielle both love Kirstie and Jeffrey, so they are doubly excited to have one more sleep tonight so they can wake up to all of their fun tomorrow. Then Emily, a friend of mine here in Omaha, Lisa, and I are going to have a girls' morning out - GARAGE SALING!!!

There were several other bloopers by the Ertson children today, but I'm so tired and I was running around like a headless chicken today, so didn't get everything written down and naturally I can't remember. We did stop by the house tonight after church, and we're still low class citizens with a basement only. What's with these guys?? We're lot number 1 in the whole community (really, we are lot #1). Did these guys miss out on the basics in counting? We're #1, We're #1, blah, blah, blah. I think my brain has officially shut off. Stay tuned for lots of updated pix and stories tomorrow!
