The entry level of our current house includes the living room, dining and kitchen. The kitchen/dining room flow into one another while the living room is the same length as both and is separated by a wall in between the 2 rooms with an opening at each end. This allows the kids to make laps (literally) around and around (until one of them bumps their head on the table or smashes a toe against the wall and need an booboo kissed). Early in the summer, I found a doll double stroller for Arielle, which Kent loves as much or more than Rella does. They have now added the stroller to their daily lap routine, which of course gets stuck every other round. Kent was making his rounds a few days ago when he fell down. He looked up at Arielle and said, "Oh my goodness, I just lost my temper!" ?????
Yesterday I could hear them singing a song to the tune of "Ring Around the Rosies" and then a loud bang on the floor as they crashed to the ground over and over and over (and over and over) again. The words had been tweaked, however. It went like this:
Ring around the Hoses
Ring around the Hoses
Ocean, Ocean,
We all fall down! (BANG)
Arielle, as most of you know, has more purses than I do - one to match every outfit. (same goes for shoes) Kent and Rella have this infatuation with gathering about 4 or 5 purses on their arms, and then heading to Kent's room to put his dress shoes on their bare feet. This is an especially comical site to behold when they are in their PJs or shorts, no socks, dress shoes, half a dozen purses. They both yell as their coming down the hall to meet me downstairs, "Bye, Mommy. I'm going to the store. I need a kiss and bear hug," which is the routine for Doug or I if we leave the house for any reason. If you fail to leave the house without following this procedure, you can hear Kent in absolute sobbing hysteria from the car! (I'm not kidding) After they give kisses, they run back to the stairs (their car), sit down, and drive away. Of course you remember from a few posts ago that "it's not grocery store, it's just the store."
I'm learning that I have to watch every response, every frustration, and every sound I make anymore. Kent and Rella were playing. Out of nowhere, Kent gave a very exasperated "Grrrrrrrrrr" and then a dramatic "You're wearing me out!!" Yeah, that's thanks to me if you hadn't guessed.
