House update

The lumber drop was scheduled for July 16th, last Monday. We have visited the property at least every other day this past week, although I only have 3 or 4 different days of pictures. We took pix of the lumber sitting around the property on Monday. Wednesday we were back to look, but they only had a few more things finished with the foundation. Thursday evening after church, we took another peek and found they had finished the main floor and walked through our living, dining, and family rooms as well as the kitchen, half bath, and Doug's office. Friday night we went back over after the men were all finished working and found the second floor was finished as well. The exterior walls are done but the interior walls are only framed with 2x4s. We did another walk through showing the kids where their rooms were and enjoying a great view of the city from our bedroom window (which will not be there for long as there will be houses in the future hindering the great view). I drove back over on Saturday afternoon and took pix of the guys putting the roof on and doing a few other things. We went back over again last night after service and did another walk through and took pix of the inside. We were several blocks down the street on our way home when Kent said, "Mommy, I want Thomas and James!" (his trains) I asked him where they were and he said, "They are at Kent's new house." He left them in our bedroom. Wouldn't the constructions loved to have seen a set of trains in the house today? We are guessing from the time frame of the houses built just before ours that the door and windows will be put into place today and we will no longer be able to walk through the house until we have the keys, so we are glad we were able to have this week of "hanging out" in the new Ertson pad. It's hard to believe in 11 or 12 weeks, we'll be moving in. So much to do, so little time!
