Happenings

It was 60 on Monday! I won't mention that is was sub-zero with the wind chill on Tuesday. I made good use of the warmth and cleaned out the garage while Kent rode his Christmas bike for the first time. He does really well going downhill. It's the pedaling he's not taking to. But we have all spring to make corrections, right?

Kent was talking on the phone with Papa yesterday when the signal was dropped. When he finally got back in touch with us, Kent said, "Papa, I lost you!" Kids and technology...

Arielle is potty trained - woohoo! No more diapers for the Ertsons. We still need backup at nighttime, but I can do one pack of Pullups now and then. Hopefully we'll omit those in the near future as well.

Nana and Papa will both be officially moved in on Saturday. The kids CAN'T WAIT for Papa to be added to their spoilage (is that a word?). Nana has been with us most of the month, so they have a healthy taste of a grandparent living with them, but Papa has traded in all parenting skills for a full dose of grandfathering. "No" has been removed entirely from his vocabulary.

Monday gave me a bad case of spring fever. Having a community park a block from the house and a great bike-riding neighborhood compounds the illness. The bears have it all figured out. Hybernating for the winter was a brilliant invention.
